  1. Hi Dakota,

My name's Ruby and I'm one of the people who will be blogging with you this summer as part of the Summer Learning Journey. Its great to see that you've been making a start on these activities. Well done!

Week 1, Day 5: Good work with these activities! You've done a good job of translating those sentences. Could you answer the question 'No hea koe?' in Maori? It would be great to learn some more about you.
I really like the questions you have listed to ask Bill Kini! It's great that you have thought about questions that can be answered with more than a yes or no. Great work!

Week 2, Day 4: Great work summarising two events that occurred in WWII. It was a terrible war, wasn't it? There were so many terrible things happening, especially in Europe.
Leonard Trent seems like a bit of a hero! How terrible that he spent time in a POW camp. Those were very dark places. I'm sometimes blown away that the war effected New Zealand so much. It seems like something that happened so long ago and so far away that we can forget the affect it had on our home.
What a great imagination you have finishing that story! I'm sure all sorts of people were needed for all sorts of things! Because all the men were away at war, women were able to do jobs that were normally considered just for men. That was the beginning of women being able to join the workforce easily. Now, women can do whatever they want! Isn't that cool?!

I look forward to reading more of your blog over summer.
    Cheers,
    Ruby.

  5. Kia ora Dakota im Pepa-jay from St Patrick's school primary in Greymouth. I love how you did the summer learning journey over the holidays, I couldn't because I was too busy doing horsey things.

I love how vibrant and colourful this piece or pieces of work are but next time you could work on making the words a little smaller and set your page out better. (Here's a link to my blog if you want to come over and have a look at some work I have done )
